Nothing like a warm muffin on a chilly winter’s day. Muffins are excellent snacks and are ideal for a quick breakfast on the road. In this section, I’ll show you how to reheat muffins so they taste as fresh and wonderful as they did when they just came out of the oven!

Toaster oven, air fryer, microwave, conventional oven, and stovetop are the best methods to reheat muffins. Each method has its own ingredients that assist keep the moisture of the muffins while heating up, and they differ in technique and temperature.

Each of these five strategies is distinct in its own way. Each one requires a little procedure that I’ve developed to ensure that my muffins are warmed without losing moisture. Continue reading to find out how!

What Are the Best Muffin Reheating Methods?

For reheating a muffin, the five best techniques are in the oven, microwave, air fryer, toaster oven, and stovetop. Each technique differs in terms of instruction and temperature, but they are all ideal for reheating muffins.

If you’ve ever wondered how to properly reheat your muffins, you’re in luck! The fact is that there is no incorrect way to reheat muffins.

The essential thing to think about is how to keep them wet as you reheat them back up.

Muffins have a soft, moist feel that is ideal for when you want something sweet but not too luxurious. Lemon poppy seed and blueberry muffins are two of my favorite baked goods.

Muffins may be fussy and dry out quickly if adequate safeguards are not taken. If you’ve ever eaten a stale, dry muffin, you know what I’m talking about. Whatever technique you use, keep an eye on your muffins to avoid them from drying out.

1. The Stove

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and wrap each muffin with aluminum foil. When heated, this retains moisture within the muffin. Once the oven has reached the proper temperature, put the wrapped muffins on a baking sheet and cook them for ten to fifteen minutes.

If you have some more time, your best option is to reheat the muffins in the oven. The oven produces the greatest results, with a hard outside and a fluffy inside texture. Place your muffins on a pan that has been lined with aluminum foil.

I also like to cover my muffins with aluminum foil. Wrapping your muffins will help them maintain moisture while also rapidly warming them through. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and bake them for around ten minutes.

Keep an eye on them to ensure they don’t burn or dry out!

After the timer goes off, take out your muffins and unwrap one to see whether it is warm enough. If this is the case, unwrap your muffins and enjoy! If they still need further heating time, return them to the oven uncovered for another minute or two.

2. The microwave oven

In general, put the muffin on a paper towel and microwave it for thirty seconds. The muffin should be warm and moist throughout. If the muffin is dry and stale, dampening the cloth will help wet it. To get the appropriate temperature, add 15-second intervals.

If you’re short on time, the microwave is a fast and easy option to reheat your muffins. The one thing to keep in mind while using the microwave is that it might cause your muffins to dry up and harden extremely rapidly.

Grab a paper towel and wet it with water before putting your muffins in the microwave. Place the towel on on the glass plate of your microwave. Put your muffins on top and microwave for approximately 30 seconds.

The damp cloth helps keep your muffins moist while they heat up.

This method keeps them from getting hard and dry. If you want to be extra cautious, cook your muffins in ten-second intervals to keep a closer check on them.

3. A deep fryer

Arrange the muffins in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Preheat the oven to 300 degrees Fahrenheit and cook the muffins for two to three minutes. If they are not completely warmed at that time, they may be returned to the frying for another minute.

Most people would never consider reheating muffins in an air fryer, but you may be in a scenario where you do not have access to a microwave or an oven.

An air fryer is a handy piece of kitchen equipment that may be used to reheat muffins in a rush.

Put your muffins in the basket in a single layer, leaving some space between them. This ensures that each muffin is fully and evenly cooked.

Set your thermostat to 300 degrees Fahrenheit. Set your timer for two to three minutes and place the basket in the air fryer.

Since air fryers reheat and cook food more faster than traditional ovens, a few minutes should plenty to enjoy a warm, reheated muffin.

4. The Oven Toaster

As a general rule, the rack should be positioned in the center of the oven. After verifying perfect positioning, put the uncovered muffin on the rack and bake for approximately five minutes, or until cooked to the desired temperature.

Although you may reheat your muffins in a toaster oven, be sure that there are no temperature variations.

Toaster ovens are infamous for having poor temperature control. A simple oven thermometer can tell you if your toaster oven is too hot, too cold, or just perfect.

Don’t put too many muffins in at once!

Before heating your oven, set the rack in the middle. There’s a danger they’ll burn if the rack is set too high. Your muffins may cook unevenly if the rack is too low.

Put the muffins on the rack, leaving a tiny space between them. Preheat the oven to 325°F and warm them for 5 minutes before checking on them.

They should be ready to eat after five minutes, but they may be left for another minute or two if needed.

5. A Cooktop

In general, cooking muffins on the stovetop necessitates the use of a nonstick pan with a cover. Set the cooktop to low heat and place the muffins immediately in the pan. Let the muffins to reheat for approximately five minutes, covered with the lid. When the muffins heat up, the cover will help them maintain moisture.

This approach may seem unusual, but I’ve discovered that cooking muffins on the burner may yield excellent results provided the procedures are followed properly.

Locate a medium-sized nonstick skillet with a cover. The top is essential because it keeps the muffins wet as they cook through.

Assemble the muffins in a pan deep enough to cover them without squishing their tops.

Turn the flame to low and set the muffins in the pan. Place the cover on top and wait five minutes for them to warm up. Remove them from the pan once they are heated and serve!

How Do You Reheat Frozen Muffins?

Let the muffins to defrost at room temperature for 45 minutes to an hour as a general guideline. Next, put the muffin in the microwave for thirty seconds on high. If the muffin does not reach the proper temperature, repeat the operation.

Take your muffins out of the freezer and let them to come to room temperature for approximately an hour.

This will shorten the time it takes to cook them using your chosen technique.

There is no need to use a moist paper towel as suggested in the Microwave Procedure since the muffin is frozen. This is because surplus moisture is removed when the muffin thaws. The paper towel method will only add unneeded moisture and result in mushy muffins.

How Can You Restore Undercooked Muffins?

In general, if the muffins seem mushy in certain parts, this indicates that they are undercooked. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Return the muffins to the oven on a baking sheet and bake for another ten minutes. Keep an eye on them to prevent them from burning.

If your muffins are undercooked, put them back in the oven for an extra 10 minutes.

Check on them on a regular basis since they are almost finished and you don’t want to risk burning the entire thing! Although undercooked muffins may be readily repaired, burned muffins are very difficult (if not impossible) to recover!
